“Oh,
uh… I’m Mecchan.” Mecchan explained. “Yeah, I know how magic works. And
it’s a long story for how I ended up getting here and I have no idea
how I’m gonna get back, but basically a friend of mine, who had
inherited his grandfather’s science labs decided to make an
extradimensional portal. It’s… got some bugs.”

Mecchan sighed. “Sorry if this is too much for you guys. If you can’t help me, I understand.”

“Oh, one of those?” the Repairman sighed. “Yeah, that sounds about right.”

Marie saw Mecchan’s confusion, and her own eyes turned to those of worry.

“No, no,” the inkblot said, reassuringly, “I can help you home, I think. Can you tell me your world?”

The Repairman looked and saw…a Mii, of all people. He wondered why whatever transport she was using brought her here of all places.

“Um,” he started, “you’re in the Soft Marketable Baby district of Toontown.”

He gestured vaguely around at the softly-colored suburban neighborhood. Various tricycles, strollers, balloons, and blocks could be seen scattered everywhere.

“I’m the Fourth Wall Repairman, and I’m a Toon!” he replied. He lifted up a baby Marie, who reached out to the Mii.

“The paint spatter is Marie, my sister and assistant. She’s not always a baby, mind you, but you know how magic works, right…?”

He shook his head as Marie gurgled cheerfully.

“…Anyway, who might you be? Where do you need to go?”

Mecchan looked around. Yep, the portal was definitely broken. She had no idea where she was. Wusiji Labs could work on their extradimensional travel tech. “Hello? Is anyone there? I have no idea where I am!” (thefoilverse)

The Repairman still had to take care of a baby Marie, and Cat Slime was still there with a Polaroid camera. The Repairman gently rocked Marie back and forth, feeding her formula from a bottle. It was, thankfully, in the Baby TV district of Toontown, so it was a calmer, friendlier place.

And then he heard a voice that wasn’t soothing, or a baby. In fact, it sounded like an issue. He headed over to find the source of the voice before she could disturb any of the Toon infants here. The last thing anyone needed was a chain reaction…

“Hello,” he called out, softly as he could, “I’m here. Please keep it down, there are kids sleeping.”

Marie added to that with a coo.

A Fourth Wall Exploit

Juna sat on top of the huge wall of TVs surrounding her divine realm.

She saw this inkblot she’d seen from time and time again to fix a few cracks she’d seen appearing a lot show up.

“Oh, you again.” Juna said, looking at the inkblot, though it was hard to tell because her hair always covered her eyes. She then flashed a wide smile. “Can’t you leave a godlike in peace?”

“…Only if you leave the Wall alone,” the Repairman muttered, absently fixing cracks here and there.

“…Wait…” a female voice called, from behind a TV, “…You know this goddess? She knows you?!”

She came out, revealing a smaller blue blob with an oversized green bow.

The Repairman shrugged.

“Had to come here a couple times, why?”

She’s a godlike!” Marie shrieked. “You don’t just waltz into a place like this! What if you get smote?!”
