As the repairman added more supplies, Angie slowly stored them to the
side. Surprisingly enough, he didn’t notice. She didn’t know whether to
laugh or actually be concerned.

“That’s really great and
all, but I’m good.” At this point, Angie had a whole stack of supplies
behind her. Her tail brushed the top of the frame tower, and she was
careful not to fall backwards.

“…andglassandglassandpanelingand–oh?”

The Repairman’s preparations came to a (literal) screeching halt. There was a moment of silence as he noticed the towers of supplies. He thought about this for a second, still clearly unable to stay still. Then it clicked.

“AUGH!” he cried out, making a mad dash towards one of the piles. “SAFETY-TY-TYHAZARD!”

He didn’t want any of these to topple onto the poor coyote, so he tool a quick glance at the glass stack, seeing how he could stabilize it. Looking around, he saw an enormous pile of wooden frames.

Perfect, his caffeine-addled mind said as he began to yank frames from the bottom of the stack. He rapidly broke them into support beams to keep the glass sturdy, but failed to notice two things.

One: There were way more planks holding the glass up than necessary.

Two: The frame tower was starting to wobble threateningly…

“That… that was amazing! How do you do that?” Penny exclaimed. “I’ve
never seen anything like this firsthand! I’ve heard stories of people
doing stuff like this but I’ve never seen it with my own eyes!”

Penny
was so excited to see something like that that she completely forgot
about being extremely tired. She grew from just being mildly intrigued
by the Repairman to suddenly very interested.

“Oh,” the Repairman shrugged, “that’s just Toon physics.”

He noticed her taking a strong interest. He couldn’t help but smile a little at the attention. He was a Toon, after all. Still, something about the way she looked at him made him…uneasy after a bit. Like he might be strapped to an operating table or something if he wasn’t careful.

What, her? No, that wouldn’t happen…

He shuffled back a little and cleared his throat.

“Uh, yeah, never really thought about it. I just go towards the other universe, and then I’m there.”

He hoped that would satisfy the kid. He wanted to stay intact, thank you…

No, no, it’s fine…

Rosalina was appreciated to hear it; she warmly smiled and giggled at
the repairer’s compliment. “Why, I’m very flattered.” she hummed.

The Repairman simply nodded, looking up and up. Suddenly, he felt his siren light come on.

“Oh!” he exclaimed. “I…guess I gotta get going…”

He pulled out a pen and a slip of paper and began scribbling. He handed the paper to Rosalina.

“Just call if you need help with something,” he said. “Thanks for helping me out there, and for the tea!”

Black, White, and Purple

“Very well then Lets go to the Milk Bar in Kakariko, I know you’ll
like it there.!” Shalbie said as he  grabbed the Repairman by the arm
and began to show him the way to the bar.

“There we can play card
games or dominoes and hear the local bard, but that’s not the best part,
the best part is they don’t care how you look like, the serve Shadow
beings and Light beings alike.” He added the last part being thanks to
an agreement Gramps had with the bar’s owner duirng that tournament of
his. “They even served the most ice cold milk in Hyrule in there! ”

“Well, all righ–Oy!”

As the shadow rattled own about how good the bar is, the Repairman took a last desperate look at his tool cart. He couldn’t interrupt the shadow now, though…

He pulled out a fishing rod while the shadow wasn’t looking and cast the line at his cart, and began to reel it in.

He looked at Shalbie and nodded as he did so.

“That…actually sounds pretty nice,” he admitted. “Though I thing I might prefer chilled milk, not cold milk…”

Link continued to flail and fight like the child he was, determined
to fight this scary monster and show all the other grown ups he was
tough. But eventually the Repairman managed to pry the small boy off and
speak. Albie tried to reach over, but was too small and short to do
much else other than wave his arms around uselessly. His movements died
down when the Repairman mentioned something about a friend. What weird
thing had happened? Other than this right here he couldn’t think of
anything.

Once Link was back on his feet, he decided to hear this
guy out, curious as to what he would do next. Well, if even a monster
needed help, he supposed he could try what he could.

The Repairman turned to see that Link followed him. Ah, well, not like he was in any apparent danger.

The Repairman opened his blue toolbox, and there was the sound of clutter being moved aside before…

“A-Ha!…Wait, no, Cat Slime–”

Furious squeaking could be heard, along with the sound of even more clutter being flung around. A dictionary hit the inkblot in the face, and he flew back, landing against the wall of Balbie’s house.

“Ugh…” he groaned, rubbing his head. He marched back to the toolbox, and looked into it, hands on hips. “You know you’re not supposed to hoard all of those. I just need one cookie, c’mon.“

Thwap.

The Repairman turned around, with a chocolate-chip cookie on his forehead and a fairly annoyed expression on his face. He peeled it off, making sure there was no ink on it before handing it to the kid.

“…Here.”

Cat Slime popped out, giving his master a mild stinkeye. Then he saw Balbie, and his eyes widened with curiosity.

Bowyetta was able to remove another arm, and held her breath as more
of the liquid metal substance splashed over her. She felt like she was
going to be seriously sick, but… She only had to be here just a little
longer.

“Mr. Sir!” Bowyetta called out to him. “There is only being one arm left! We must be removing the one in the center!”

She
didn’t know how easy that was going to be, however. The shadow’s body
was collapsing faster than she imagined, and the center arm was very
large… Nevertheless, she began sawing at it.

One look at the thick arm, and the Repairman threw the pickaxe aside. Instead, he decided to pull out a jackhammer. It had a thin layer of dust on it, which quickly shook off as it roared to life.

Unfortunately, this sent the tool flying, along with the hapless inkblot, who realized as he screamed why he never used the thing.

The jackhammer went this way and that, occasionally landing a hefty strike on the arm, but most of the time just going around randomly with a very dizzy Repairman on top.

((Fired! AU)) “Hey, Beepsumu, did Cat Slime come by here?” the inkblot asked. His trenchcoat and hat were muddy and torn, and he looked like he had been crying. “…Please don’t tell Bowyetta. Don’t want her to worry…”

monokuro-adventures:

“W-well, actually, Mr. Sir…” Beep didn’t really know how to put this. Cat Slime had tried to tell Bowyetta everything, and she wasn’t sure how to tell him. “Cat Slime… Is upstairs with Bowyetta. But… Neither of them looked very happy.”

Beepsumu didn’t even get to finish that last sentence before the inkblot dashed up the stairs and into Bowyetta’s room. A very worried Cat Slime noticed and bounded over into his open arms.

All the wear and tear on the inkblot’s garments seemed to fade off. He happily embraced his pet, silently vowing to keep him in his more direct hammerspace for the foreseeable future.

I missed you…”

He turned to Bowyetta, slightly teary-eyed.

“…Thank you!” he said, voice wavering. “Where was he?”

@alinkbetweenportraits

“It’s a monster!” Link jumped up on his feet and ran for the supposed Poe before him. The boy took his soup ladle and began bapping the repairman over the head repetitively. “Spooky Poe monster you gotta go cause mama and papa don’t like no good thieves and liars!”

“Ow! Hey! Stop it!”
Ripples went over the top of the Repairman’s inky scalp as it was repeatedly struck with a ladle. Finally, he grabbed at it, not trying to snatch it from Baby Albie (“Balbie”, if you will), but just holding it in place.
“Look,” the inkblot said, exasperated, “I’m no monster. I was just coming over because a friend said something weird happened…”
He was tempted to add “…and clearly it did,” but thought better of it. That would just make things worse; clearly the kid had no memory prior to this. Instead, he gave a friendly smile and began to move for his tool cart, which was parked right outside.
“Hang on a sec…”
He just hoped Cat Slime wouldn’t mind…

@bonkakira-and-friends

“Oh, thanking of you muchly, Mr. Sir. Um, Bowyetta will be explaining later but… She is thinking she had a baby somehow.” Honestly, Bowyetta didn’t know if she was going to fit inside the toolbox or not. It seemed awfully small compared to her…
She tried by gently sticking one of her feet in, and immediately stepped on something hard. “Eep!” She tried again, and was able to get her whole foot in this time. She let her other foot follow, and soon she was in up to her leg joints.
“Um, Bowyetta is thinking she might be- Aaah!” Somehow, she ended up slipping and falling inside. “…Thanking of you muchly, Mr. Sir,” she called up. “Please do not be telling anyone where Bowyetta is being.”

“Be careful going in–what?

The Repairman winced as several things clattered and shifted. He took a moment to process the news, and smiled.

“Hey, congrats? Where’s the little tyke? Did you name-”

He stopped himself, realizing that she was just running away from her kid. He couldn’t help but wonder why. Well, he was more determined to go to the void now, that much he knew. But for now, he nodded, looking into the toolbox.

“All right,” he sighed, “you can stay for a little while, but I make no promises.”

Lousy Play

“Why can’t we have a soda machine? Why does the only thing that can
keep me awake here have to taste so horrible?” Penny muttered to
herself, taking a sip of coffee.

She then looked around. The Fourth Wall Repairman was nowhere to be seen.

“Huh? Repy? Where’d you go?” she called out. No response.

She looked around again. Nothing.

She assumed he had just left for a moment.

Not even a Goodbye? she thought when suddenly the machine started making noises.

This shocked Penny so much she spilt her coffee. Luckily, she was wearing her pink coat, so she wasn’t hurt.

She looked at the machine carefully and saw Repy on the screen.

“What?!” she shouted. She didn’t know what to do. She’d never seen anything like that before. All she could do was stare.

Okay, so he might have to fix something here…not here, though…

He was taking a look at the foreground of a Duck Hunt-looking place when he noticed Penny gawking at him. Gosh, she looked huge from this side of the screen.

He sighed. Clearly, he was gonna have to stay here to fix the Wall, if only for this.

“Heh, sorry,” he said, rubbing a hand behind his head. “Just…thought this would be easier than playing them.”

He already had a trowel ready for the break that happened there.

The inkblot wasn’t sure how to admit he mainly did this so the kid could go home and sleep. It obviously didn’t work. The Repairman had an even better view of her tired eyes now. He thought for a moment, before snapping his pseudo-fingers in realization.

“Hang on a sec,” he called out, moving offscreen and appearing some distance behind Penny.
