“Yeah, it was a box that had some of my stuff in it.”
She thought about where she had hid it, it had to be somewhere around here. It couldn’t be any deeper in the wood though, as she wasn’t allowed to go that far anymore.

“All right,” he said, packing the shrink ray back into his toolbox. Looking into it, he had an idea.
He pulled out an oversized red horseshoe magnet.
“If any of your stuff is metal, you’ll see it soo–ACK!”
The magnet flipped and flew towards the Repairman’s cart, affixing the inkblot to it.
He gave an embarrassed laugh as he looked back at the rabbit.

She was releived to be her normal size. However she didn’t expect the inkbot to be so small, must’ve been the small size she was.

“If I’m right I was looking for something I hid around here somewhere, but then I came across some strange mist that looked like it was coming from a plant, then a few minutes after that I realized that I was this size and then this happened.”

“…Huh.”

He thought about this for a moment. He hadn’t been to this world before. Even if he doubted his need to breathe, he was sure there would be more hazards than a mist-spewing plant. He could use a bit of help learning about this universe, and how often folks here break the Wall.

Besides, whatever it was the rabbit was looking for, it seemed important.

“You need help finding…whatever it is…” he asked, wavering as he suddenly realized he didn’t catch a name, “…ma’am?”

“Ok this is good!”

She waited for the inkbot to stop.

The Repairman opened one eye. Yup, the ray still worked, and the rabbit seemed to be a size he was used to seeing (even if he didn’t know the exact height she was supposed to be).

He let go of the trigger, and the machine slowly stopped humming as it powered down.

Looking up at the rabbit, he asked, “So, how’d you get caught in a shrinking plant?”

“Oh, well I guess it wouldn’t be too much if I did become a bit larger than usual. I’m ready!”

“Just tell me when to stop!”

And with that, the Repairman pulled the trigger, sending an electric yellow beam at the rabbit with a whirring noise. The Repairman averted his eyes, as he didn’t expect it to be so bright, but he kept the ray as steady as possible.

She nodded excitedly, as she was already tired of being this small, only to think about if it has downsides.

“Is there any risk of…becoming too tall?”

“Um.”

He had only ever used the thing on planks, and he didn’t really care about the exact size, just if it was large or small enough.

It didn’t help that this was probably from a futuristic 50’s cartoon, and therefore had no apparent settings apart from one switch (labeled “GROW” and “SHRINK”).

“I don’t know,” he finally admitted. “I really don’t use this that often.”

He shifted a little, looking at the ray gun again.

“Then again,” he mused, “I could shrink you back down to a normal size if you get too tall…”

Having decided the plan, he took aim at the rabbit. The gun made a humming noise as it charged.

“All right,” he said, “Ready?”

She thought about it for a minute.

“Well I did see some sort of gas coming from a strange plant…Perhaps that may of been the cause?”

She wondered if a gas from a plant could even cause a situation like this.

“Seems like as good a reason as any,” he nodded. “Now, let’s see…”

He opened up his toolbox and began rooting through it. After a while, half of him was in there, digging deep until a faint “a-ha!” could be heard.

He came back up brandishing a silver ray-gun. On both sides, it bore the label of Size-o-Beam 2000.

“It’s funny what folks throw away,” he remarked, showing it to her. “You wanna try this?”

She looked up, intimidated by the size of the inkblot. “H-hello…” she squeaked “I t-think I’m ok, besides suddenly turning th-is size out of nowhere…”

“Out of nowhere?”

The Repairman had been to some strange locales, and this didn’t exactly feel like the kind of universe where sudden shrinking would be normal.

“So…nothing happened before?” the Repairman asked.

He began waving his hand in a prompting manner.

“No… strange gas?” he continued, trying to think of examples. “No… electric beam? …No potions or mushrooms?”

Inaba was frightened by the size of everything else conpaired to her. She was used to being atleast 2 feet smaller, but not this small!

The Repairman looked around idly as he set his toolbox down. It was just another forest setting to him, but forest settings were always pretty nice to see.

The inkblot wondered where everyone was. He wouldn’t be here if there wasn’t someone cutting his work out for him.

After looking around fruitlessly, he decided to look down.

He widened his eyes in mild surprise. He was not at all used to rabbits that were much smaller than him, let alone ant-sized ones.

“Oh, hello,” he said. Noticing her distress, he asked, “Are you all right?”
