Tag: [[I feel like I went a bit far here]]

“You mean while I was gone? Well, I went to college. I figured if I found a major I was passionate about or good at, at least that would be a starting point for me. But… nothing really clicked. I tried to be funny, but I just never got it. It’s like…it’s like I’m incomplete or something.”

She glanced down at herself, noting how she only moved at about one or two frames per second. She was never given a proper ‘character sheet’, and the only drawings of her made by her ‘animator’ were key frames that may as well have a been comic panels.

She shook her head, smiling back at the tiny blob. “But it’s okay, Mr. Repairman. I’m still here, and I guess that’s what matters.”

“Incomplete? You?”

The Repairman hopped out of his chair. Or, well, sloshed out. He wasn’t quite in hopping condition at the moment.

“Look, still finding your place is fine," he said, smiling weakly. "Can’t let yourself be pigeonholed.”

He sighed. Even he quickly tasted the irony in him saying that.

“I’ve met plenty of Toons who weren’t comedic,” he continued, quickly changing the subject, “I’m not comedic. It’s not a problem once you find your… genre. Some are just… better at being heroic, or romantic, or an extra, or any number of things.”

The siren light was unmoved at the tone, but it did catch “genre” and “extra”. Sure enough, it quickly pushed the ice pack off the Repairman’s head.

He groaned in annoyance, but continued, “You’ll figure it out, Shinko.”
