“Well…” Tippy took a look around. “All the cities are pretty far from
here, actually. We might not have a choice but to go talk to Kole…” She
shook her head at the wheelchair. “I appreciate the offer, but my wings
are still perfectly okay. I can fly myself there, but… Well, that’s the
thing with Kole. She kind of has a habit of… Turning people into
blocks.”

Her eyes widened. however, when she caught sight of Cat
Slime. “Aww, kitty!” she squealed. “What’s his name? Where did you get
him? Where can I get one?” She tried to bend down to pet him, but… Her
arms were still sore. “Ah… Y-Yeah… Let’s go talk to Kole before
anything, shall we?”

Cat Slime squeaked, unsure whether to beam with his usual affection or be scared of this other cat. Quickly, he decided on the former, smiling warmly at her.

The Repairman furrowed his brow.

“…Turn people into…blocks?”

Not that that was the strangest thing he’d seen, but he had to think of a way to make sure that didn’t happen.

He knew of one common way to counter magic like that, and he hoped it worked here.

Pulling a mirror from his hammerspace, he smiled at Tippy.

“I think we can help you there. Just show us the way!”

Tippy tried her best to get up off the ground without using her arms,
and eventually just ended up using her wings to prop herself up
slightly.

“I know where there’s a few doctors on the island,” she answered.
“Only problem is, I don’t know what time they close, or how far they are
from here. Well… There IS a healer in the Tamazon Jungle somewhere…
Only problem is, I don’t know if I can exactly trust Kole to heal me or
not. She might give me some weird potion that… Anyway, what do you think
we should do?”

The Repairman looked around, hoping to spot any landmark other than sand.

“…Uh, if that jungle is closest…” he said, uncertainly, “we may have to visit Kole…”

He pulled a wheelchair from his hammerspace, as well as his pet Cat Slime.

“We’ll be ready for her, though, right?” he asked, proffering the chair.

Cat Slime, meanwhile, was in the middle of lathering up with sunscreen when Tippy caught his eye. He began squeaking in confusion, for this was the first time he met another cat…

Tippy, however, at least had some idea of what to do in this
situation. Acting more on instinct than rational thought, she stretched
out her wings and tried to take the strange paint-creature onto her
back.

…Except she failed to account for the extra weight of
the extra items he was carrying. “Ack! L-Let go!” She grabbed at his
pogo stick and fire extinguisher, in an attempt to make him drop them.
“You’re weighing me down too-”

The next thing she knew, she was
tumbling across the sand. She would have gone pretty far, if the water
hadn’t slowed her down. “…A-arm! My arm is broken!” she suddenly started
yelling. That’s what she said, but she seemed to be moving her arm just
fine… “Lil Paintball! Where’d you go?”

“What the–?! AUGH! LEGGO…! IIDIDNTASKYOUTO”

Too late. He was already a smear on the sand.

“…ohhh….”

When he had finally rolled himself back up to size, his eyes widened.

“Your arm is broken?! Hang on I think I have–oh.”

Fine time to realize you left your cart behind!

“…We should get moving. Do you know where we could find a hospital or something…?”

He kept taking concerned glances at both her arms.

The Star Dish carried Tippy high into the air without much of an
issue. However, just as she was about to make a landing, something
happened. The cracks in the Dish began to grow bigger, and it was
rapidly shedding stardust.

She had to think of something, and
fast. Unfortunately, thinking on her feet was not one of Tippy’s strong
suits. As such, she ended up simply letting go and falling off of the
Dish, leaving it to burst into a cloud of stardust.

As she fell,
she caught sight of Paintball bouncing after her, and quickly held on to
the pogo stick, trying to stop him. “Leave the aerodynamics to me,
little guy!” She managed to call out to him. “We’re… We’re going to
crash!”

The Repairman saw the cat leap out, thankfully avoiding the apparent explosion of that ship. He sighed in relief, and then cried out as she grabbed the pogo stick.

Not good! Not good!

The fire extinguisher he carried dangled dangerously from his one free hand.

He looked down, panicked. He should have known better than to use a pogo stick at this altitude; he doubted his chances of sticking the landing…

“Uh… Is it supposed to be making that noise? And that smell?”

:

“Uhh… Well, about that…” To be honest, Tippy didn’t know anything about fixing Star Dishes. In fact, this was her first time ever trying to make one, and it didn’t look as sturdy as the ones other Star Heroes made. It had several cracks and was showering stardust everywhere, and smelled like it was on fire…

Luckily for her, this guy didn’t seem to be from around here. If he didn’t know anything about Star Dishes either, she could probably fake it until she got someone to fix it.

“…Don’t you worry about a thing, Puff- Er, Paintball,” she reassured him. “If it makes you feel any better, I’ll give it a test flight first.” And with that, she hopped onto the rickety Star Dish, taking off high into the sky with a “YATTAH!”

“…Inkball,” the Repairman muttered. Then what she said hit him. “Hey, hang on–!”

He leaped back as the thing took off, looking up into the sky with a worried expression. Yeah she had wings, but those did little good in fiery explosions.

Thinking quickly, he dug into a toolbox and pulled out a fire extinguisher and a pogo stick. It would take a bit to get up there, but hopefully he’d have time…
