“Mr. Sir? Is being okay if Bowyetta is staying with you for a while?” Bowyetta’s hair was a mess, and she was… Oddly shaking a lot. “Bowyetta knows not what to be doing with herself right now.”

[[So, I was told this is because of the current @alinkbetweenportraits M!A.]]

“…Define ‘staying’,” the Repairman remarked, looking uncertainly at his tool cart. He didn’t exactly have a home universe, let alone a home to stay at.

He looked back at Bowyetta, clearly worried just by proxy. On top of the fact she was quite shaken.

“…What the hrdfl happened?” he asked, rushing over to her side.

Her explanation was mostly just a jumble of confused words, and she sounded as though she were on the verge of a breakdown. “Well something is having happened to one of Bowyetta’s friends and Bowyetta is having of a child now and she is just needing to be thinking about her life…” She eyed his tool cart oddly. “Can Bowyetta maybe be hiding in there for the next few days or maybe week?”

“Wait–what happened to who–child?!

The Repairman blinked.

“…Um…okay,” he finally said, opening the blue toolbox. “Just watch out for Cat Slime when you go down there.“

He was planning on going to the Void anyway; he’d see what this was about, hopefully.

“Um, Mr. Sir!” Bowyetta tried to call out over the noise. “Bowyetta knows not how to be using of- EEK!”

Bowyetta
suddenly found herself pushed halfway down the shadow’s body. She tried
to clamber back up its head, but she wasn’t exactly the best swimmer,
and with Shadow swatting at her it didn’t make things easier…

Without thinking, she slashed at the arm that was swinging at her.

Oww!
The arm suddenly retreated back into Shadow’s body. Somehow, she also
seemed to… lose her shape slightly. Bowyetta now found it easier to move
through the metallic substance, and took her place back on her head.

“Mr. Sir! Bowyetta is thinking she is knowing what we must do now!”

There’s a trigger in the handle! Squeeze it!”

He was having troubles of his own, dangling off a half-severed arm by his pick, trying to swat away other incoming arms. He didn’t even notice that his weight was dragging the pick deeper into the shoulder, until finally it tore through.

The stunned inkblot’s eyes widened as he fell back into the liquid mass, the pick falling to the ground with a clatter.

He emerged next to Bowyetta again.

“Oh, that’s good,” he said, clearly a little dazed. “What is it?”

Bowyetta had no idea how she was supposed to work this thing, but she
was at least relieved that she wouldn’t have to use her teeth.
Something told her she could get pretty sick if she swallowed this
stuff…. “Thanking of you muchly, Mr, Sir… Can you be getting the ones on
the left? Bowyetta will be going to the right.”

She said nothing
as she straggled through the shadow’s liquid metal body. She just wanted
this stuff off her as soon as possible, and she didn’t know how to use
this saw… Maybe if she just swung at the arm as hard as she can?

But this only seemed to make the shadow notice what was happening. “How did you get up there?! You’re trying to ruin me, aren’t you?! Stop that right now!” She sprouted two more arms and attempted to swat the two away.

The Repairman nodded and got to work. Bowyetta was probably stronger than him; she could handle the saw’s pull.

This the inkblot understood. Sometimes to fix something, part of it had to be chipped away. He was getting into a steady rhythm with the pick when he realized…Why wasn’t he hearing any buzzing…?

“Is the saw work–waugh!”

He just barely ducked under the arm that swatted at him. The top of his head seemed flatter as he winced. Of course, it quickly regained its shape.

“…Are you okay over there?” he called out, as he lifted his lower body up to avoid another attack.

“Umm…” Bowyetta looked around. “Bonkakira is saying we are needing
to, um… be attacking her arm… Are needing of some sharp object, but..,
Can not be reaching into her hair right now…”

Bowyetta’s hair was
now coated in a combination of ink and the strange liquid metal. Judging
by the look on her face, it was the metallic substance making her feel
ill for some reason. And since she couldn’t exactly reach her arrows at
the moment, the only other sharp object she had on her was…

“Um,
M-Mr. Sir…?” Bowyetta’s voice was shaking as she asked. “Are you having
of any hard objects? Bowyetta is needing of something to sharpen her
teeth…”

The Repairman silently pulled out a buzz-saw and a pick-axe. He was more than willing to sever the appropriated parts of this thing.

He was about to clamber town to the nearest limb when he noticed Bowyetta looked…ill. And she expected to chomp on this thing?

“You don’t need to bite the thing,” he said, tossing her the saw. “Here. Now, let’s fix up this…whatever it is…”

“Um! Just a moment, Mr. Sir!” Before the shadow could grab the two
again, Bowyetta picked up the Repairman and ran away to hide. “We must
be getting away first!” The shadow tried to look for them again, but
still seemed to have trouble turning around…

Once the two were out
of sight, Bowyetta produced some sort of phone from her hair and
pressed several buttons on it. “Hello? Is being Bonkakira?” she
whispered this time. She didn’t want to risk getting caught. “No no,
Bowyetta cannot be talking very loudly right now. …Well, um… Is being a
giant metal blob with six arms out to kill us… …You are knowing? …You
are wanting Bowyetta to be doing of what?! …Well… If is being what she
must doing… Thanking of you muchly.” She hung up. “Um, Mr. Sir?
Bonkakira says we are supposed to be attacking her arms… But… Is one way
we must be getting up there.”

Bowyetta stepped out as slowly and
carefully as she could and made her way over to the shadow. Just the
thought of doing this made her sick, but… If it was the only way…

Bowyetta
carefully put her hand on the shadow’s body and quickly sank into it.
After a moment, she reappeared on top of her head, motioning for Mr. Sir
to join her. Something about this felt… Wrong to her…

“Ah, okay,” the Repairman nodded, still upside-down. “How do we–oh.”

He was still in the vice when Bowyetta snuck off to however she was supposed to do this. He sighed, and began struggling again. The siren light seemed to stretch and bend a little, and then it snapped and shattered.

Finally, the Repairman was free. As he dug into his hammerspace for a new bulb, he saw that Bowyetta was on top of the monster’s head. How did she…?

Oh.

He quickly screwed on a red bulb that was identical to the last one, and as he dashed for the shadow’s body, he pulled a formless diving suit from behind his back and hastily donned it. As it made a loud zzzzzzip! noise, he entered the liquid metal and swam to the top.

He surfaced right next to Bowyetta, and it was clear he was also uncomfortable with that, though less so.

“…Now what?”

bonkakira-and-friends:

“Oof!”

He looked at Bowyetta once the birds flew away.

“Yeah, I’m fine. Are YOU oka–uh oh.”

For
some reason, he had trouble escaping the shadow’s grip, despite a fluid
body. He struggled and grunted, but it was clear it wasn’t happening.

“Magical glow orb….?”

Good thing a Wall break appeared elsewhere. This was one of the few times he found the stupid light helpful.

He
pulled a rather large vice from behind his back and put it over his
head with surprising ease. Carefully, he put it over the bulb, and made
it just tight enough to hold on to it.

“HEY, MONSTER!” he called out. “PUT US DOWN GENTLY OR THE MAGIC ORB GETS IT!”

It wouldn’t hurt. Besides, he had spare bulbs. He just hoped Bowyetta could guess that.

W-what?! No! You WOULDN’T!

Even Bowyetta was shocked by this. She tried to get free of the Shadow’s grasp, but it was surprisingly hard to move through the liquid metal. “M-Mr. Sir! You must not be doing that! You will being quite injured!”

The shadow seemed very unsure about what to do. She wanted them BOTH. That light would look awfully pretty on her head… But, she was in need of a new pair of legs… Maybe she could wash them off?

ENOUGH!!” Eventually the shadow just… Sort of let go. “If I can’t have your bodies, then… Neither can YOU! I’ll crush you here and now!

Bowyetta clunked to the ground, and rushed to help Mr. Sir. “M-Mr. Sir! What we are to be doing?!”

“Try me,” the Repairman said, smugly. Finally, some decent results. Though he’d have to explain to Bowyetta that he’d be fine either way later.

Of course, when the shadow let go, THAT’S when the vice decided to be as heavy as it looked. He flipped over, falling head-first to the ground with a CLANG!

After (for want of a better phrase) his ears stopped ringing, he found the lever for the vice to be just out of reach. He was as helpless as a turtle on its back.

Bowyetta still came to him for advice, and he was running dry. This was fairly new to him, and nothing seemed to work for long. He needed someone who has seen it all, and survived it…

“…I…don’t know,” he grunted, trying to push himself out. “Maybe we should call Bonkakira…”

bonkakira-and-friends:

“!” the Repairman said as he was snatched into a hug. Aw, great. She was squeezing the tears out of him.

“…T-thank you,” he managed, as he sobbed into her chest.

He sniffled, then got up, still a little runny, and put his hand on her shoulder.

“We’re not gonna die,” he said, matter-of-factly. “We’re gonna–WAUGH!”

His eyes widened, looking directly into the shadow’s. What could he do…?

Aha! His siren light briefly popped up with a bing! sound effect.

“Oh, I’m sorry,” the Repairman asked, in an overly fake tone, “how did I ruin her…?”

He looked at the real Bowyetta, noticing how inked she was on her hair and across her torso. He grabbed onto her leg.

“You mean like this?” he mockingly asked, looking back at the shadow.

Bowyetta seemed somewhat confused by this, and her face turned slightly blue. He was dripping ink all over her legs…  “Um, Mr. Sir? W-what you are-”

AUGH!” She was interrupted by the shadow’s anger, and screamed and held onto Mr. Sir tightly as it slammed them both into a wall.

Bowyetta’s head was slightly dented by the impact. “Y-you are being okay, Mr. Sir…?”

The shadow just grew even angrier at this. “See what you’ve done?! She’s USELESS now! She must be disposed of!” The shadow stretched out another arm to pick up Bowyetta, holding her in one hand and Mr. Sir in the other, and proceeded the carry them both away.

And as for YOU…” She barked at Mr. Sir. “That magic glow orb of yours will look MUCH PRETTIER on ME.

“Oof!”

He looked at Bowyetta once the birds flew away.

“Yeah, I’m fine. Are YOU oka–uh oh.”

For some reason, he had trouble escaping the shadow’s grip, despite a fluid body. He struggled and grunted, but it was clear it wasn’t happening.

It wouldn’t hurt. Besides, he had spare bulbs. He just hoped Bowyetta could guess that.

“M-Mr. Sir…” Bowyetta rubbed her eyes. “Is being true? You… Are not
actually wanting to hurt Bowyetta?” She paused for a moment, wanting to
hear if he had anything else to say.

As soon as Mr. Sir finished
talking, Bowyetta scooped him up into a hug. She didn’t care that she
was getting covered in ink, nor that her tears were spilling all over
him. “No. Is not what Bowyetta is wanting at all, Mr. Sir. You having
done so much for her, and… Bowyetta is liking you very muchly, Mr. Sir.
Please do not be leaving Bowyetta. If she is going to die… She would
rather it being with you.”

And suddenly, the two were scooped up in a giant metallic arm. “You! You- You’ve RUINED her! What did you do?!

“!” the Repairman said as he was snatched into a hug. Aw, great. She was squeezing the tears out of him.

“…T-thank you,” he managed, as he sobbed into her chest.

“You mean like this?” he mockingly asked, looking back at the shadow.

Bowyetta’s hair and face were still soaked with ink. It was still
difficult to see, but at least she COULD now. “You may be wanting to-”

She
yelped as she was suddenly dragged away. Once the two had gotten to
safety, she finished her sentence. “You may be wanting to check
yourself, Mr. Sir. Please to be making sure Bowyetta’s hair did not get
on you.”

The shadow seemed to hear Bowyetta’s voice. “Where are you?! Show yourselves!

Bowyetta
jumped, and quickly produced a towel from her hair. She wiped the ink
off her face, then proceeded to sob into it, sinking to the floor. “Is
being how Bowyetta is going to die? Bowyetta has lost one of her best
friends? You may just be giving Bowyetta to her now…”

“Huh?”

He caught his breath as Bowyetta repeated. “Oh, okay…”

He started to brush himself off, but jumped at the shadow’s threats. All the hair follicles fell out because of this, what little there were. He looked in alarm as Bowyetta began sobbing.

“Wait, what?” he started, confused. Realizing she might be putting herself in danger, he went to try to quiet her down.

“Shh, shh, no, you’re not gonna die, we’re gonna get you out of here…”

Did she really still think he wanted her dead? Would she be accepting any more of his help? He wondered if it’d be better to just leave after she was safe.

“…Look, I don’t want you hurt,” he said, before taking a deep breath. This was getting to be harder to say than he thought. He took a moment to collect himself, but he still sounded choked up as he continued, “…After we get out of here, you won’t have to see me again if you don’t want…”

“Bowyetta is not being okay, Mr. Sir. Bowyetta’s back is much-”

Bowyetta
couldn’t see what was happening, but she certainly could feel her
stomach drop as the two went flying. She let out another scream. “M-Mr.
Sir?! What happen?!” They ended up hitting the ground behind the shadow,
making a loud clunk as they hit the ground.

The shadow seemed confused by this. “What?! What did you do?!
She seemed to be having trouble turning around to find them. Bowyetta
once again tried to reach into her hair, but shuddered instead. She
REALLY didn’t want to touch Mr. Sir right now… “Umm… Bowyetta… May be
having of something in her hair, but… She is not able to be reaching of
it right now…”

The Repariman jostled as they landed, but didn’t get off her head any further.

“Sorry, had to get you out of the way,” he said. “Can you hold that thought?”

He pulled out a crowbar and tried once again to pry himself off. As it snapped in half, both pieces fell to the ground with a clatter.

“Dang it…”

As he saw the shadow attempt to turn around, he started turning left and right, frantically looking for something they could hide behind. However, he was distracted by the fact he could…swivel easily?

He slapped his hands over his eyes. Of course…

He rapidly spun counterclockwise on Bowyetta’s head for a second before dropping off with a pop!

Righty tighty, lefty loosey…

He brushed himself off and looked around again. Seeing a large pile of scrap, he grabbed Bowyetta by the hand and ran for cover.
