Visiting Beyond the Fourth Wall?

Shinko squealed a bit  as she stepped back, her eyes wide when she saw the axe shoot out of the bottle right into the blob of a Toon.

“Ah- Mr. Repairman! Mr. Repairman, are you okay?!” she asked, walking over to him to make sure that it wasn’t damaging him that much. Even if Toons could handle such a thing, she figured it would still hurt.

“Ow… the handle went right into my head!”

He removed the offending prop.

“Get me one of those white crossed bandages and I’ll be fine…agh…”

The Repairman began to loosen the axe’s blade.

“Might as well cause something interesting to happen,” he said, as he moved to put the axe back to where it came.

Clatter. The axe landed inside the bottle.

“Figures,” sighed the Repairman

“Oh! Umm..let’s see…” She rummaged through her hammerspace before she managed to take one. She walked over to gently place the crossed bandage over his injury, smiling gently.

“There…that all better?” she asked the Repairman.

“Much better,” he replied. “Thank you.”

The bandage sunk slightly into his form, but was still visible as he looked at the axe-in-a-bottle.

“How do you suppose the bottle could be emptied without any…complications?” he asked.

Shinko was still having a hard time understanding what the Repairman was trying to tell her, but she was trying her best.

“So then…it’s the bottle that’s weird? And anybody’s hammerspace items could accidentally slip through it?”

“It looks like that’s the case.”

The Repairman continued looking at the bottle with interest.

“ It’s almost like this is an item specially made for comedy shorts.” He shook his (for lack of a better word) head.

"Too bad it wound up here.”

He took a peek inside the bottle.

A throwing axe came out to meet him.

“But…what does this mean, exactly?” she asked the Repairman, looking up at him in concerned confusion. “I mean, is something wrong with hammerspace? Or is something else the matter?”

The Repairman fidgeted a bit.

“Well," he though aloud, "it’s like I said, I still have to study dimensional relations.”

He looked at the bottle.

“That said, I don’t see any danger to this thing, as long as it’s kept either plugged or upright. I can’t say for certain what would happen if the bottle was broken…”

With that, she began to shake the bottle up and down, wondering if something would come out.

A dustpan dropped, along with a length of white ribbon that was speckled with black spatters.

“Heh, sorry,” The Repairman sheepishly muttered. "I didn’t grip properly.“

He looked down at the clutter that thy had just created.

"Perhaps that was just Rule of Funny, though…”

“Oh…um, okay,” she replied with a nod. She handed him the ribbon before accepting the bottle.

“Umm…just tell me when you’re ready?” Shinko asked the Repairman as she held the bottle upside-down.

The Repairman put the dustpan away and gripped the ribbon.

“Ready.”

“Wha-!” She quickly held fast to the ribbon that was about to move out of her grasp. She was trying to be careful though. After all, who knew what would happen if she would somehow manage to enter her own hammerspace.

The Repairman stopped pulling and untied the ribbon. He handed the mallet back to Shinko and pulled out his dustpan, tying it to the ribbon.

“All right, Shinko. You can let go of that end. I’m going to do what you did, so hold the bottle upside-down and see if anything comes out.”

Shinko blinked a bit, wondering if something had come out of the inside-out bottle. She made sure that her grip on the ribbon was still secure, still unsure as to what exactly the Repairman was testing out, or what it would prove.

“…what’s going on?”

“Well, a white ribbon came out of the bottle and it brought a hammer. Hold on to the ribbon, please!”

With that, the Repairman yanked on the ribbon-tied hammer.

“Wha-!” She quickly held fast to the ribbon that was about to move out of her grasp. She was trying to be careful though. After all, who knew what would happen if she would somehow manage to enter her own hammerspace.
