The inkblot sat at a park bench in Toontown. This seemed to be a “mood” park of some kind, as everything looked much less saturated, it seemed to always be raining, and no one went on the play structures. No, every Toon here was moping alone on a bench or a table, with each being a good distance away from everyone else.

The hat and trench-coat offered minimal protection from the downpour, but what did the inkblot care if he was washed away? It’s not like he had anything else to do.

No job, no life, no form, nothing to his name but a pink slip, and no name…

Well, at least he had…

“Cat Slime?”

He jolted upright, desperately patting his coat. No use. The inkblot’s pet was sleeping in the toolbox when it was…

Despite being a little runnier, he began to wander off.

“CAT SLIME!” the inkblot called out, desperately. “CAT SLIME!”

“It’s a monster!” Link jumped up on his feet and ran for the supposed Poe before him. The boy took his soup ladle and began bapping the repairman over the head repetitively. “Spooky Poe monster you gotta go cause mama and papa don’t like no good thieves and liars!”

“Ow! Hey! Stop it!”
Ripples went over the top of the Repairman’s inky scalp as it was repeatedly struck with a ladle. Finally, he grabbed at it, not trying to snatch it from Baby Albie (“Balbie”, if you will), but just holding it in place.
“Look,” the inkblot said, exasperated, “I’m no monster. I was just coming over because a friend said something weird happened…”
He was tempted to add “…and clearly it did,” but thought better of it. That would just make things worse; clearly the kid had no memory prior to this. Instead, he gave a friendly smile and began to move for his tool cart, which was parked right outside.
“Hang on a sec…”
He just hoped Cat Slime wouldn’t mind…

“Oh, thanking of you muchly, Mr. Sir. Um, Bowyetta will be explaining later but… She is thinking she had a baby somehow.” Honestly, Bowyetta didn’t know if she was going to fit inside the toolbox or not. It seemed awfully small compared to her…
She tried by gently sticking one of her feet in, and immediately stepped on something hard. “Eep!” She tried again, and was able to get her whole foot in this time. She let her other foot follow, and soon she was in up to her leg joints.
“Um, Bowyetta is thinking she might be- Aaah!” Somehow, she ended up slipping and falling inside. “…Thanking of you muchly, Mr. Sir,” she called up. “Please do not be telling anyone where Bowyetta is being.”

“Be careful going in–what?

The Repairman winced as several things clattered and shifted. He took a moment to process the news, and smiled.

“Hey, congrats? Where’s the little tyke? Did you name-”

He stopped himself, realizing that she was just running away from her kid. He couldn’t help but wonder why. Well, he was more determined to go to the void now, that much he knew. But for now, he nodded, looking into the toolbox.

“All right,” he sighed, “you can stay for a little while, but I make no promises.”

Lousy Play

“Why can’t we have a soda machine? Why does the only thing that can
keep me awake here have to taste so horrible?” Penny muttered to
herself, taking a sip of coffee.

She then looked around. The Fourth Wall Repairman was nowhere to be seen.

“Huh? Repy? Where’d you go?” she called out. No response.

She looked around again. Nothing.

She assumed he had just left for a moment.

Not even a Goodbye? she thought when suddenly the machine started making noises.

This shocked Penny so much she spilt her coffee. Luckily, she was wearing her pink coat, so she wasn’t hurt.

She looked at the machine carefully and saw Repy on the screen.

“What?!” she shouted. She didn’t know what to do. She’d never seen anything like that before. All she could do was stare.

Okay, so he might have to fix something here…not here, though…

He was taking a look at the foreground of a Duck Hunt-looking place when he noticed Penny gawking at him. Gosh, she looked huge from this side of the screen.

He sighed. Clearly, he was gonna have to stay here to fix the Wall, if only for this.

“Heh, sorry,” he said, rubbing a hand behind his head. “Just…thought this would be easier than playing them.”

He already had a trowel ready for the break that happened there.

The inkblot wasn’t sure how to admit he mainly did this so the kid could go home and sleep. It obviously didn’t work. The Repairman had an even better view of her tired eyes now. He thought for a moment, before snapping his pseudo-fingers in realization.

“Hang on a sec,” he called out, moving offscreen and appearing some distance behind Penny.

Bowyetta squeezed the saw’s handle as hard as she could. The sound of
it buzzing to life nearly made her drop it, and the snipping blade was a
little scary… This could’ve been someone she knew!

Bowyetta didn’t have much time to explain. “C-Center! We must be attacking her arms!” She swung at another arm that was about to hit them.

The
more damage Bowyetta did to the shadow, the more it also seemed to lose
it’s shape, and the easier it got to swim through the liquid metal. “S-stop doing that! Before I… Crush you both!” The shadow began to form another arm, however, this one looked half melted, and nearly fell apart as she swung it.

“What do you mean her ar–OH!”

He nodded, swinging at another arm. This one did fall off…right onto his head.

“Oof!”

He expected that to smart a lot more than it did. As it was, the metal bounced off him with no more pain than if he hit his head on a table.

Well then.

He rubbed his head and took a look to see if he could figure out which arms of the shadow’s were left.

“Mr. Sir? Is being okay if Bowyetta is staying with you for a while?” Bowyetta’s hair was a mess, and she was… Oddly shaking a lot. “Bowyetta knows not what to be doing with herself right now.”

[[So, I was told this is because of the current @alinkbetweenportraits M!A.]]

“…Define ‘staying’,” the Repairman remarked, looking uncertainly at his tool cart. He didn’t exactly have a home universe, let alone a home to stay at.

He looked back at Bowyetta, clearly worried just by proxy. On top of the fact she was quite shaken.

“…What the hrdfl happened?” he asked, rushing over to her side.

Her explanation was mostly just a jumble of confused words, and she sounded as though she were on the verge of a breakdown. “Well something is having happened to one of Bowyetta’s friends and Bowyetta is having of a child now and she is just needing to be thinking about her life…” She eyed his tool cart oddly. “Can Bowyetta maybe be hiding in there for the next few days or maybe week?”

“Wait–what happened to who–child?!

The Repairman blinked.

“…Um…okay,” he finally said, opening the blue toolbox. “Just watch out for Cat Slime when you go down there.“

He was planning on going to the Void anyway; he’d see what this was about, hopefully.
