“I know… thanks guys…” Kit mumbled as her
eyes drooped and she snuggled under the blanket the blobs tucked her
into. Kit didn’t seem to mind the gray paint on the others’ hands
either-more like she wasn’t even aware-as small bubbles rose
periodically from Kit snoring lightly, almost looking as if she was
boiling.

Seeing Kit was resting Aggie floated over squeaking
softly. He seemed to be asking if she was ok, if it was permenant and
other such worried questions. Despite Cat Slime calming him down
earlier, Aggie was still quite worried.

Cat Slime clambered up one of the chair’s legs, trying to follow Aggie. He stumbled as he moved across the blanket. Panting, he squeaked more promises than he could think of, about how Kit would be okay, and how his owners would find a way to make things better.

And then he tripped, landing on what might pass for Kit’s cheek with a gentle pap. After quietly cursing in Slime, he pushed himself back up, continuing to promise that it would be okay. If Aggie wasn’t floating, Cat Slime would have pat him.

The Repairman and Marie, meanwhile, turned back to the Wall, quietly discussing how they might help the poor blob of gray paint. Every so often, they would turn back to glance at Kitterah, just to make sure she was still safe.

“I just don’t know if there’s some kind of cure we need or if we just need time, that’s the problem…”

“Well, do you have a book of remedies in that toolbox?”

“Um, maybe. I can check…”

“Urg…R-Repairman…I feel funny…”

“You okay–ach…”

They both stiffened, wincing from the sudden aching. They noticed their pains were strongest where Kitterah’s paint was…

Cat Slime, too, suddenly stiffened. He squeaked in shock, before lying to Aggie and saying he was fine.

All three felt butterflies in their stomachs, and the feeling was only intensifying as strange glows encircled them.
