Bowyetta let out a yelp as the crowbar pulled on her body.
“B-Bowyetta can not being a mother! She can hardly be caring for
herself!”The white-haired girl spoke up. “Bowyetta, what’s wrong?
From what I’ve heard, having kids is wonderful! What could have
happened to make you not want-”It was then that she realized what
she had asked. Bowyetta would never say it herself, but… Was she afraid
that she would end up hurting Barrette somehow? …Was she afraid that
she would end up becoming like Smithy…?“Bowyetta… Is not wishing for any harm to be coming to her child. Is why it is not good for her to being around Bowyetta.”
At this point, the Repairman gave up on the crowbar idea. Tossing it aside haphazardly, he pulled a jack out from behind his back and placed it inside the toolbox. Its sides contorted outward as he raised the jack.
“…There you go,” he grunted, once it was wide enough for her to slip out. Then what she said finally hit him.
“What do you mean you’d harm her–”
Oh.
“…You mean like…NO!”
With alarming speed, he pulled Bowyetta up.
“You are not him, you are nothing like him, and look! She has several aunts who can help ya! Just…”
He looked at Barrette sadly.
“…Be what Smithy wasn’t, okay?”
